In some varieties of Gilanian Gilaki, the definition of həndi and əndi is not always identical. There is a semantic difference between them: 1. həndi: quantifiable, definite
ex. həndi non ʧərə həgiti? 'why did you get this much bread?' (note: it is quantifiable for the speakers)
ex. həndi mɑi: kujə ʤi bɑrdi? 'from where you did bring this amount of fish?' (note: the speakers can quantify the amount)
2.əndi :nonquantiable, indefinite.
ex.əndi ʃum bəzɑm vəkətəm 'I plowed so much, I'm exhausted' (note: not clear how long and how many times the speaker repeated the cycle of plowing)
ruχonə əndi mäiː dobo mu väγ a bom 'There was a huge amount of fish in the river that I got shocked' (note: the speaker did not see the amount quantifiable)
